The things I really like in the session is the: Wardrobe &#38; Grooming Self-Assessment The object of this exercise is to make you aware of where you stand as far as how to look, and particularly how valuable a contribution your closet and its contents make to how you look. <p>The object of this exercise is to make you aware of where you stand as far as how to look, and particularly how valuable a contribution your closet and its contents make to how you look.</p>
<p>Answer these ten questions as honestly as you can, with a simple YES or NO</p>
<p>1.  Do you feel that you are always dressed appropriately?</p>
<p>2.  Do you dress each day as though you life depended on it?</p>
<p>3.  Do you feel comfortable around people who are well dressed?</p>
<p>4.  Is the daily act of getting dressed a pleasure?</p>
<p>5.  Do you use your wardrobe and grooming to get what you want?</p>
<p>6.  Is every item in your closet something that makes you feel terrific and attractive?</p>
<p>7.  Are you attracting everything you want in the areas of sex, money and power?</p>
<p>8.  Is your physical presentation working for you in attaining your goals?</p>
<p>9.  Do you feel that you have put out 100% in every area of your presentation? Hair? Makeup? Grooming? Body? Clothing?</p>
<p>10. Are you willing to look sexy, wealthy and powerful?</p>

<p>How many NO answers were you forced to give? Please be honest, if you lie about this, you are only fooling yourself.</p>

<p>Anyway the speaker for the event is Silas Liew, a Malaysian fashion designer and budding entrepreneur. Plying his trade as a design assistant for local  label Michael  Ong, Silas Liew is one who loves thinking outside of the box and the  26-year-old KL-ite is a firm believer in the favourite Malaysian pastime  – lepak-ing.</p>

So bila separuh hati maka tak banyaklah usaha yang dilaburkan untuk mencari perniagaan. Contohnya, kita malas nak membaca majalah-majalah keusahawanan so memanglah tak jumpa apa-apa pun peluang perniagaan. Tiada Ilmu Selalunya kita tak mampu mengenalpasti adanya suatu peluang perniagaan sebab kita tak mempunyai ilmu untuk menganalisa &#38; mentafsir suatu situasi tersebut. Contohnya, seorang ahli perniagaan dapat mengenal pasti bahawa terdapat permintaan untuk perkhidmatan mnghantar barangan runcit ke rumah seperti doorstep.my. Satu lagi contoh adalah dimana seorang doctor dapat mengenal pasti ketiadaan sejenis ubat yang mengubati penyakit yang khusus serta tidak mempunyai sebarang persaingan dari syarikat ubat lain. Kedua-dua situasi ini memerlukan ilmu dan pengalaman di pihak ahli perniagaan &#38; jurutera tersebut. <p>Walaupun dengan keinginan dan ilmu, usahawan belia tetap tidak dapat melihat peluang perniagaan yang ada kerana mereka ini tidak cukup peka terhadap perubahan yang berlaku disekeliling mereka. Kebanyakan belia hanya kisahkan akan hal-hal kehidupan mereka dan tidak mahu ambil tahu akan perkara lain seperti isu ekonomi dan politik negara atau dunia. Paling kurang pun cubalah perhatikan peniaga-peniaga yang berjaya dan lihatlah apa yang membuatkan mereka berjaya.</p>
<p>Dunia memang luas dan terdapat pelbagai peluang untuk kita tangkap jika ada rezeki dan kemahuan. Kalau takde kemahuan, maknya korang takkan berusaha atau mengambil berat dalam mencapat matlamat korang. So, buat apa mengatakan korang nak jadi usahawan. Akhir sekali, kuatkan semangat dan mulakan pejalanan anda dengan mencari ilmu yang sebanyak yang mungkin, suatu hari nanti pasti anda akan melihat pelbagai peluang untuk berjaya kerana korang semua adalah…</p>

		<description><![CDATA[Saya terbaca satu blog bertajuk &#8220;Should Young Entrepreneurs Ditch College?&#8221; So aku juga hendak beri ulasan pasal isu nih I belum lagi seorang full time usahawan tapi  dalam masa yang terdekat ini insyaallah akan melebarkan sayap saya dan akan menceburi bidang ini secara full-time. Walaupun begitu saya percaya bahawa keusahawanan adalah suatu mentaliti dan bukannya pada pangkat yang tertulis di business card korang. Bagi aku la, sekurang-kurangnya korang kena ada degree business, kalau korang tak nak amik degree cam engineering, medic &#38; sebagainya. Kenapa? Sebabnya: Ilmu Korang boleh katakan yang korang boleh belajar dari buku atau pengalaman dan sebagainya. Tapi berapa lama yang perlu korang bazirkan untuk sampai tahap yang memuaskan? Itulah sebab kita berguru supaya mereka dapat menunjuk kita ke jalan yang lurus dan tersesat kerana kurangnya ilmu. Ada seorang rakan saya mempunyai perniagaan dan dia tidak mempunyai ijazah perniagaan. Dia tidak mahu melabur dalam pemasaran dan mempromosikan perniagaannya. Perkara ini berlaku bukan kerana dia tidak ada duit, tetapi dia tidak tahu berapa banyak duit yang boleh dilaburnya. <p>I belum lagi seorang full time usahawan tapi  dalam masa yang terdekat ini insyaallah akan melebarkan sayap saya dan akan menceburi bidang ini secara full-time. <p><strong>Networking</strong> Tidak ada tempat lain yang akan memberikan anda peluang unutk mencari rakan-rakan yang mempunyai pemikiran yang serupa dan cita-cita untuk menjadi usahawanan. Mereka kelak yang akan membantu korang dalam perniagaan korang kelak. Malah bukan rakan-rakan sahaja, lecturer korang pun boleh membantu. Kebanyakan lecturer korang mempunyai rangkaian networking yang luas, so diorang mungkin mempunyai kenalan yang boleh membantu perniaggaan korang.</p>

<p><strong>Kredibiliti</strong> Kita tak boleh nafikan bahawa bila seseorang ada degree orang akan lebih trust kitorang berbanding seseorang yang tiada degree. Tycoon-tycoon sekaran boleh la sebab zaman diorang muda-muda dulu bukan senang nak dapat masuk universiti.</p>
<p>Banyak sebab untuk sertai IPT. Senang kata kalau korang takde idea perniagaan, lebih baik korang ambil mana-mana kursus pengajian pernagaan. Korang tidak akan dapat nampak peluang perniagaan di luar sana kalau korang tidak ada ilmu untuk mengenal pasti dan menilainya. Aku pun macam itu gak, kalau tidak ada ilmu yang aku belajar dekat universiti takkan aku nampak pelbagai peluang perniagaan di dalam bidang aku sebagai pelajar pengkhususan pemasaran. So ambil subjek yang ko minat, pergi menuntut ilmu dan sentiasa mengambil inisiaitf untuk peka dengan peluang perniagaan yang mungkin muncul. Sebab korang adalah&#8230;</p>

<p>I like playing risk, the board game. For those who don’t know it’s a strategic board game about using soldiers to conquer all the countries in the world. For those who don’t know about the game you can go and see the <a title="Risk Guide" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f9GqcCMrJI" target="_blank">rules of the game here</a> but for you to understand this article you don’t need to know the exact rules. I’m just going to share some philosophies I use in playing the game.</p>

<p><strong>Don’t fight fire with fire</strong></p>

<p>In the game, the more armies you have the more you will win. But that doesn’t mean you must fight with all your armies at the same time. If you have a lot of armies never use them to fight with a strong enemy. Fight armies that are weaker than you. It’s not bullying, it’s just strategic. In World War 2, you will never see both the Alliance and German sides bring tanks on the same field. Always choose your battles correctly, and only use them to achieve a necessary goal. Example: To get a strategic country on the board game (conquering certain countries gives you extra advantages in the game). When, you attack someone with equal strength as you, both parties will draw and you will lose all your armies. Making you both weaker than earlier and exposed to a third player. That’s the same in life, sometimes fighting fire with fire is not the best strategy, like Bruce Lee said it, “Be Water My Friend”</p>
<p><strong>Control strategic points</strong></p>

<p>In the game, there are several countries where it is important for you to conquer first. For example, in the image below if you want to prevent your enemy to control South America you must control &amp; increase number of armies in Venezuela &amp; Brazil because they are the only place to enter the South America Continent. In business, you cannot control everything but if you know what is the most important factors to control than you’re on way to have a good foundation.</p>
<p><strong>Gain &amp; maintain momentum</strong></p>
<p>A few countries are grouped together to form a continent. When all of you conquer all the countries in a continent you get to get add more armies every turn compared to other players. So, usually the first person to get a continent will usually win the game. This is because there is a compounding effect. In business, there is a compounding effect in financial issues, but here in the game the compounding effect is in the amount of armies you can add in the game. In layman terms, there is momentum in the game. As a player, you need to get continents as soon as possible and built on it to conquer more countries. Usually, when my enemy does this, I will try to distrupt their momentum by doing all it takes to prevent them conquering a continent. Some will say I’m just really a sore loser but it’s all pure strategic. I know 100% that advantage will determine the outcome of the game. Of course, if I don’t play seriously then it won’t be fun right? ;P</p>
<p><strong>Don’t be greedy</strong></p>
<p>The amount of your armies are not limitless. You might have a lot of armies but if you go and conquer so many countries, you might end up having your armies scattered to thinly which leaves you open to attacks from many direction. So attack until you reach your objective or able to conquer a strategic country where it is easy to defend. One time, I had a strong army, I conquered all the way to the other edge of the board game, but I spread my forces too far. Each of the country I conquered, only had 1 army. After that, the previous owner of the land I conquered, re-conquered my lands. It’s same with life, nothing wrong trying to achieve more but be clear about the reason why you’re doing it. If it’s just greed, then you will lose it.</p>

<p>Most of people I know play alliances like it’s a marriage. Most alliances are temporary but the mutual benefits are clearly defined. Most businesses are that. It’s not like I’m going to start betraying my alliances. I am still playing with my friends ;P but my point is this: Every situation you have an enemy. And that enemy has another enemy and ultimately, the enemy of my enemy is my friend…for now. Just find who that person is and work something out.</p>
<p>Sometime I play the game too seriously because I want to win. But the reason I want to win is that I feel it is a good opportunity to understand the thinking process and how I will react to situations. I especially like trying to anticipate my opponent’s next steps although most of the time I cannot guess correctly. I was able to learn about all the 3 things above from the game. Maybe you guys have learnt something from the game to? Please do share. <p>Dapatkan maklumat kewangan syarikat tersebut dan kaji sama ada prestasi kewangan mereka adalah bagus atau tidak. Kalau tak bagus, maksudnya realiti ini bercanggah dengan kejayaan &amp; kekayaan yang telah mereka janjikan. Kalau bercanggah, memang korang patut berwaspada kalau korang tak nak reject seratus peratus. Kalau tak boleh kaji makulumat kewangan, korang google je lah nama syarikat atau program yang di promote tuh. Mesti ada orang yang ada bincangkan perkara ini kat internet.</p>

Bawak balik risalah dan kaji produk itu. Bandingkan dengan produk-produk &amp; program-program yang sewaktu dengannya. Kaji balik pengiraan &amp; keuntungan yang diorang beritahu. Fikir balik, logik tak anggaran diorang. Contohnya, boleh tak korang dapat 300 pembeli sebulan? Mingkin boleh tapi berbaloi ke? Kalau korang rasa ia berbaloi, teruskan ke langkah seterusnya.</p>
<p><strong>Rajin Bertanya</strong></p>

<p>Tanya promoter program pelbagai jenis soalan. Soalan pelik-pelik pun boleh, malah lebih bagus kerana soalan ini akan mudah buat si promoter mudah tersasul, tersilap dan terbocor perkara-perkara yang mereka selalu sembunyikan. Cuba tanya saiz pasaran produk ini, berapa ramaikah orang yang sedang menyertai program ini dan apakah ciri-ciri pelanggan perotensi &amp; apakah bantuan yang akan diberikan kepada korang untuk mendapatkan keuntungan. Lagi kelam kabut diorang lagi korang perlu berhati-hati.</p>
<p><strong>Fahami terma &amp; syarat-syarat</strong></p>

<p>Korang mungkin tak pandai bab-bab perundangan &amp; kontrak ni tapi tak salah untuk baca. Kalau baca, mungkin korang ada ternampak perkara-perkara yang mencurigakan dalam kontrak tersebut. Kalau tak baca, memang rugi sebab kata-kata tak boleh bawak mahkamah tapi kontrak boleh.</p>
<p><strong>Temubual pelabur-pelabur lain</strong></p>
<p>Ini memang tak perlu citer sangat lah. Apa lagi cara yang sesuai nak kaji kelebihan &amp; kekurangan sesuatu perniagaan melainkan tanya pelabur-pelabur lain. TETAPI&#8230;pastikan bukan rakan-rakan si promoter tadi tuh sebab mungkin diorang dah berpakat untuk menipu supaya korang cepat terpedaya. Seelok-eloknya, cari pihak ketiga yang tidak mempunyai kaitan dengan si promoter. Paling best cari yang dah berhenti. Pendapat orang yang dah berhenti mungkin akan berat sebelah tapi sekurang-kurangnya korang ada maklumat dari pelbagai pihak.</p>
<p><strong>Tanya pendapat rakan-rakan</strong></p>
<p>Cuba kongsikan peluang perniagaan ini bersama rakan-rakan korang. Memang sure ada orang yang bersifat negatif atau kurang bijak dalam menilai perniagaan ini. Tetapi yang penting adalah korang dapat melihat perkara-perkara yang korang tak nampak sebelum ini. Perspekstif yang pelbagai akan memastikan korang tak terlalu cepat teruja dengan suatu idea perniagaan.</p>
<p><strong>Ambil masa &amp; jangan terburu-buru</strong></p>

<p>Sabar it suatu kemestian, terutama dalam menganalisa suatu perkara. Mungkin dalam perniagaan korang perlu buat sesuatu dengan cepat tetapi itu hanya bila kita sudah tahu bahawa apa yang dibuat adalah betul. Kalau tak lebih baik berhati-hati. Lebih baik lambat daripada salah terutama bab-ba skim cepat kaya sebab kalau betul ia pelaburan yang hebat kemungkinan besar  hanya para usahawan jutawan yang akan diberitahu peluang ini. Ye la, kan&#8230;orang macam inilah yang patut mereka pergi bukan orang-orang  yang mempunyai  jumlah wang yang tak seberapa (macam aku gak)</p>
<p><strong>Sesuaikah pelaburan ini dengan kemahiran &amp; bakat anda?</strong></p>
<p>Yang penting sekali setiap pelaburan memerlukan korang semua untuk melabur dalam sesuatu dan kebanyakan skim cepat kaya dia mintak korang cari <del>mangsa</del> pelabur lain. Kalau aku, dengar ini je aku terus reject. Sebab kalau laku sangat tak payah lah perlu aku buat kerja merekrut lagi. Apa-apa pun, pastikan bahawa adakah korang mampu mencari rekurt-rekrut ini. Adakah korang mempunyai kemahiran &amp; bakat dalam <del>menipu</del> meyakinkan rakan-rakan anda untuk menyertai program pelaburan korang?</p>
<p>At the end of the day, semua skim ini adalah kerja jualan/sales. Ada rekrut ada duit. Halal atau Haram (memang pun haram sebab tiada barangan atau perkhidmatan bertukar tangan), memang ada kemungkinan korang boleh dapat untung tapi ingat kalau korang punya kawan tak puas hati siapa yang akan terima kesannya kelak. Korang jugak, walaupun korang jugak antara orang yang tertipu. So, fikir baik-baik kerana kami&#8230;</p>

Tetapi itu tidak bermaksud kita harus tutup kedai pada hari yang berikutnya. Kita harus terus menjual sehinggakan pasaran sudah &#8216;mendidih&#8217;. <p>Selagi usaha seseorang itu tidak sampai ke tahap yang memuaskan, maka  hasil usaha tersebut juga tidak akan memberikan pulangan yang memuaskan.</p>
<p>Samalah juga dengan keadaan pasaran, kita mungkin berasa patah hati apabila produk kami tidak berjaya dijual dengan banyak pada hari pertama jualan. Tetapi itu tidak bermaksud kita harus tutup kedai pada hari yang berikutnya. Kita harus terus menjual sehinggakan pasaran sudah &#8216;mendidih&#8217;. Manalah tau, di hari-hari yang akan datang akan ada lebih ramai pengunjung setelah pembeli pada hari pertama telah menyebarkan berita mengenai produk anda, betul tak?</p>

<p>Malangnya, keadaan pasaran tidak ada &#8216;takat didih&#8217; yang tetap. Ia bergantung kepada produk dan juga sasaran pasarannya. Ia bergantung kepada pengalaman dan kebijaksanaan usahawan tersebut untuk mengenalpasti &#8216;takat didih&#8217; pasaran tertentu.</p>
<p>Kalau anda semua tidak ada pengalaman atau kebijaksanaan, pastikan anda ada semangat yang kuat &amp; keinginan yang membara untuk berjaya kerana semangat itulah saja yang akan mendorong anda semua untuk terus berusaha.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[I can&#8217;t really remember the title of the book, but one of the chapters was about a potentially &#8216;different&#8217; way to learn about the world rather than through a degree. Thought I would write/type it down for reference (I took a photo with my phone. Sorry dear copyright laws) but also to share it with you guys/girls. Subscribe to the Economist and read each issue religiously. Memorize the name of every country, capital, and prime minister/president Travel to several major world regions, including somewhere in Africa and somewhere in Asia. Read the basic texts of every major religion in the world, the Torah, the New Testament, the Koran, and the teachings of Buddha. Visit a church, a mosque, a synagogue, and a temple. Subscribe to a language learning podcast for 20 mins each episode, 5 times a week for a year. Go to a local language club to practice it. Loan money to an entreprenure through Kiva.org. Learn at least 3 new skills, eg photography, skydiving, computer programming, etc. You don&#8217;t have to be an expert, just proficient enough. Read at least 30 nonfiction books and 20 classical novels. Join a gym to keep fit Become comfortable with basic presentation [...]]]></description>

<li>Read &#8216;The-Know-It-All&#8217; by A.J. Jacobs, a summary of the Encyclopedia Britainnica.</li>
</ol>
<p>This is gonna be my resolution for 2011. At least half of the things on this list. =/</p>
