This was the title of an amazing event I attended not too long ago. It was one of many events organized by a great bunch of people under the BQE banner, a complimentary, non-profit platform providing workshops and support for Malaysian entrepreneurs to grow together as they face challenges in both business and personal life.

The event I went to was titled ‘Brewed to Impress | Dress for Success!’. It was about the importance of grooming & fashion sense is important in developing a favorable impression in the eyes of our clients, partners & society in general.

The things I really like in the session is the:

Wardrobe & Grooming Self-Assessment

The object of this exercise is to make you aware of where you stand as far as how to look, and particularly how valuable a contribution your closet and its contents make to how you look.

Answer these ten questions as honestly as you can, with a simple YES or NO

1.  Do you feel that you are always dressed appropriately?

2.  Do you dress each day as though you life depended on it?

3.  Do you feel comfortable around people who are well dressed?

4.  Is the daily act of getting dressed a pleasure?

5.  Do you use your wardrobe and grooming to get what you want?

6.  Is every item in your closet something that makes you feel terrific and attractive?

7.  Are you attracting everything you want in the areas of sex, money and power?

8.  Is your physical presentation working for you in attaining your goals?

9.  Do you feel that you have put out 100% in every area of your presentation? Hair? Makeup? Grooming? Body? Clothing?

10. Are you willing to look sexy, wealthy and powerful?

Answer Guide

How many NO answers were you forced to give? Please be honest, if you lie about this, you are only fooling yourself.

If you did not have a single NO answer, then you are already a winner

1  NO you are definitely success material

2  NOs you have an edge over the competition

3  NOs you are on the right track

4  NOs you are taking too many shortcuts

5  NOs you are just getting by

6  NOs you are not quite making it

7  NOs you are in the slow lane

8  NOs you are not even on the highway yet

9  NOs you are not even in the car

10 NOs make a beeline to your nearest department store

How many NOs did you get? I’m not telling mine ;P

Anyway the speaker for the event is Silas Liew, a Malaysian fashion designer and budding entrepreneur. Plying his trade as a design assistant for local  label Michael Ong, Silas Liew is one who loves thinking outside of the box and the 26-year-old KL-ite is a firm believer in the favourite Malaysian pastime – lepak-ing.

Overall, the event was fun & informative. It’s very accessible to the average Joe & of course, everyone want good clothes right?
